The electrical system had been giving problems for awhile, so it was time to deal with them.
The first task was to replace the alternator and the battery in an effort to get a stuck trio of idiot lights to work properly again. Actually the battery was 'found dead' and the alternator was not delivering power to the ECU and the electrical system. The engine ran for a few minutes after a jump start, and then died.
Here's a few pics of the alternator replacement.
My son volunteered to help on this one.
The replacement went quickly and without problems. Here you see the spot where the old alternator was, and where the new one is about to be installed. Note the aged condition of the wiring.

The installation was completed in less than 30 minutes.
